I am Ana Canjura and teaching children has always been close to my heart. I love nature, traveling, exploring different cultures, and creating learning experiences that make children feel excited about the world around them. Originally from San Francisco, I bring a broad and creative perspective into the classroom: blending academics with hands-on discovery, kindness and imagination.
As a Bilingual educator, after years of working with children and seeing the reality many families are living, I know one thing deeply in my heart: our children need more peace.
In Houston, I have seen so many hardworking mothers and fathers wake up before the sun, rush to work, worry about bills, come home exhausted, and still carry the guilt of wondering if their child is truly getting the attention, patience, and nurturing they deserve.
I understand that struggle because I live in this community too.
I see children arriving to school overstimulated, disconnected, and often lost in systems that are too crowded, too rushed, and too focused on meeting standards instead of truly developing the child.
And I keep asking myself:
- Where is the calm?
- Where is the beauty?
- Where is the individual love?
Where is the space for children to breathe, wonder, create, and feel safe? These questions are what inspired me to partner with Fireside Learning Academy.
