With more than 25 years in K–12 education, I bring experience as an elementary teacher, special education teacher, mathematics interventionist, elementary assistant principal and principal, instructional coach, professional development leader, and virtual school leader to my work with students and families.
As the founder of Educator’s Heart Consulting, I provide academic support, tutoring, coaching, and parent consultation focused on helping students build strong foundations, confidence, and independence.
My background in classroom instruction and school leadership gives me a comprehensive understanding of curriculum, assessment, intervention, and the many factors that contribute to student success.
My Approach
I believe children thrive when they are known, supported, appropriately challenged, and taught in ways that recognize their individual strengths and needs.
My approach combines strong academic foundations with intentional instruction that helps students develop understanding, confidence, independence, and a positive relationship with learning.
As a former elementary principal and instructional leader, I understand that meaningful academic growth requires more than completing assignments. It requires effective instruction, purposeful assessment, responsive support, and partnership with families.
My goal is to help students understand what they are learning, why it matters, and how to apply that knowledge confidently.

Reading & Literacy:
I am Orton-Gillingham trained and experienced in supporting students with dyslexia and other reading challenges. My instruction uses a structured, explicit approach to strengthen foundational literacy skills, fluency, comprehension, and confidence.
The goal is not simply to help a child read—it is to help them become a capable, confident reader.
Mathematics:
As a former Mathematics Content Coach, I understand the importance of helping students develop mathematical understanding rather than simply memorizing procedures. I focus on conceptual learning, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and helping students understand why mathematical processes work.
Writing:
Support in developing writing skills, organizing ideas, communicating clearly, and strengthening written expression.
Foundational Academic Skills:
Targeted support to strengthen essential skills that help students succeed across subject areas and become more independent learners.
Homeschool Support:
Academic support for homeschooling families, including instruction, reinforcement of skills, and guidance aligned with each child’s educational needs and goals.
Tutoring & Academic Coaching:
Individualized instruction and coaching designed to address academic needs, strengthen skills, and build student confidence.
Parent Consultation:
Guidance for parents seeking a clearer understanding of their child’s academic strengths, challenges, learning needs, and strategies for supporting progress at home.
