I am Cathy Peters, the founder of Educator’s Heart Consulting, a service dedicated to supporting educators, families, and students through high-quality instructional coaching, tutoring, and parent consultation services designed to strengthen academic outcomes and learning experiences.
I was drawn to Fireside as a partner because it aligns so closely with the work I’m already passionate about—helping young learners build strong reading foundations and grow in confidence. Through my experience working virtually with PreK–5 students across multiple states, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful individualized instruction can be, especially for students who need a more supportive and structured approach.
My instructional approach is grounded in helping students build strong foundational skills while also developing confidence, independence, and a positive relationship with learning. I focus on identifying how each student learns best and tailoring instruction to meet their individual academic needs. I am Orton-Gillingham trained and experienced in supporting students with dyslexia and other reading challenges, with a focus on developing fluent, confident readers. My reading instruction emphasizes structured, explicit skill-building that helps students move from decoding to true reading comprehension and confidence.
The Fireside expanded model combines the personalization of tutoring with the structure of a learning program, creating a more cohesive and supportive educational experience for students in PreK–5 across multiple states.
I’m excited to lead my pod because it allows me to create a consistent, engaging learning environment where students are known, supported, and able to thrive. My goal is not just academic growth, but helping students develop confidence, independence, and a genuine love for learning. Learn more.
